Education continues for R Star Foundation’s Top of the World-Nepal School as they look to rebuild

Looking forward to rebuilding, Rosalind Russell, founder of R Star Foundation, says, “This is our ‘open air’ classroom with the children studying. The protocol to rebuild here has been a dismal challenge since the quakes over 3.5 years back. The engineers are the ones who determine what, how and when building can be done. It was over seven months before we could get an engineer to the school because of the extreme demands for rebuilding all over the quake affected areas.”

“We are closer right now to an actual price and construction company to do the rebuild which makes us hopeful as it is not right for children to spend their day in a broken room. Meantime the good thing is their education continues. (Yes, we would like funds to rebuild).”

Rosalind Russell hands copy of book to Principal Jitu of TOW-Nepal

“C.W. Grunig lives in Laguna Niguel. He is a former teacher. He writes fun, educational children’s books. He has gifted books to us in the past. This year he gifted me more. The school in Nepal is named after the area I lived in and our TOW school in Laguna.”

“Jitu is delighted as the books teach interesting ‘stuff’ about animals to both the teachers and our students. It is a sure thing our TOW-Nepal kids are the only ones with his fine books in their school.”
