Boys & Girls Club partners with OCCF to host Greatness Amplified Giving Day

On Wednesday, Aug 26, The Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach will partner with the Orange County Community Foundation (OCCF) and 12 fellow Boys and Girls Clubs to host Greatness Amplified. Now in its third year, this 24-hour online fundraising event aims to raise $150,000 for Orange County’s Boys & Girls Clubs who are providing critical services to children and families in the midst of the pandemic.

When asked about Greatness Amplified, CEO Pam Estes said, “We are so excited partner with the Orange County Community Foundation and the 12 other Boys & Girls Clubs across Orange County to ensure that we can continue to provide vital resources and programming for our county’s youth.”

Since the pandemic began, Boys and Girls Clubs have monitored health and safety guidelines and crafted strategies to support members and local communities with enhanced summer enrichment programs, youth and family virtual programming, and college-bound virtual services. While adhering to public safety guidelines, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Orange County have been working tirelessly to serve youth through their summer programs and ensure the community receives needed support and mentorship.

Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach will participate in “Greatness Amplified” Giving Day on August 26

The 13 organizations participating in Greatness Amplified include Boys and Girls Clubs in Laguna Beach, Anaheim-Cypress, Brea-Placentia-Yorba Linda, Capistrano Valley, Central Orange Coast, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Huntington Valley, La Habra, South Coast Area, Stanton, Tustin, and Westminster.

“Last year, our generous community went above and beyond to make Greatness Amplified a success,” said Shelley Hoss, president and CEO, OCCF. “I believe that during these challenging times our community will once again support our local Boys and Girls Clubs to maximize their positive impact on children and youth throughout Orange County.”

Greatness Amplified is part of a bold initiative by OCCF to boost the capacity of local nonprofits through a series of Collaborative Giving Days. This Giving Day is the latest of a series that, to date, has raised more than $10 million for Orange County nonprofits. OCCF first challenged Orange County residents to “give where their heart lives” during the inaugural iheartoc Giving Day in 2015, raising more than $1.8 million for 347 participating nonprofits in just 30 hours. In 2018, OCCF restructured iheartoc as an expanded opportunity for nonprofits to connect with one another in support of their shared missions.
