Children’s clothing drive benefiting four local nonprofits scheduled for August 8 & 9

Local parent Celine Macmillan is currently collecting clothes for a children’s clothing drive to be held on Saturday, August 8 and Sunday, August 9 from 9 a.m. - 2.p.m.

Although Macmillan is currently the Vice President of Laguna Beach High School PTA, this is not a school related fundraiser.

Macmillan says, “I’m doing a gently used children’s clothing drive (infant to 12th grade). This isn’t a PTA fundraiser. I’m doing this as a Laguna Beach parent.”

All items will be sold in the driveway of her house at 499 Canyon Acres for $5 and under. One hundred percent of the money raised will be divided equally among four local nonprofits: Pacific Marine Mammal Center, Catmosphere Laguna, The Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach, and (Rhino) Cause Conservation.

“I’ve spoken to Laguna Beach families who are struggling financially due to COVID-19 job losses,” says Macmillan. “I just wanted to assist in a small way by helping families save a little money purchasing clothes for their children. It’s also been difficult financially for many of the nonprofits.”

If residents have clean, gently used infant to 12th grade clothes they wish to donate, the items can be dropped off at Macmillan’s house, or text her at (949) 466-7425, and she will pick them up.

The goal of this fundraiser is two-fold: To help Laguna families save money purchasing clothes for their children and to support our local nonprofits.

Macmillan says, “I’ve worked with all four of these nonprofits over the years with various volunteer opportunities that came up with each one. They are all wonderful organizations that do so much good for animals and children.

“If you don’t have clothes to donate or won’t be coming to purchase any clothes, but want to support this fundraiser, you can make a donation by clicking here.”

Every $5 donation does make a difference. Spread the word and forward this message to your friends and neighbors.
