Local hero Bill Brown passes away

Laguna Beach grieves the loss of one of its dearest locals, Bill “Billy” Brown, who passed away Monday in his home.

A Laguna Beach High School grad and former Laguna Beach Lifeguard, Bill was a beloved uncle, son, brother, and friend who will be remembered as “a consistent example of the good that exists in all of us.”

Bill Brown

Bill was an avid dirt bike rider, stand up paddle boarder, and all-around adventurer.

He was a passionate mortgage broker and entrepreneur who was “excited about the all-time record lows on mortgage rates,” according to a friend.

He will be remembered for his laugh, his smile, and his kindness; and for his advocacy for our youth (including petitioning for the reopening of the dirt bike trail at Bluebird).

Bill Brown lived an adventurous life full of love and meaning

“Billy Brown was and will always be the human embodiment of every good thing that Laguna is. A bonafide hero to the kids in the community, especially his beloved Max, he shined with a light of so much positive vibration that the energy would immediately shift when he walked into a room. He lived his life full tilt, without fear. No regrets and no excuses, Bill was absolutely one of a kind. Pure loving kindness in his heart. There is a huge void in Laguna now and forever with his sudden and tragic passing. We love you Billy Brown,” said dear friend Ron Pringle on Monday.

Skipper Carrillo calling Bill safe at third on a triple

According to Pringle, Bill’s death was not COVID-related and there is no suspicion of foul play.
