LOCA kicks off monthly art talks for the public on Thursday

LOCA Arts Education invites art lovers to its LOCA Art Talks events, offered monthly in downtown Laguna Beach. The fun, educational, and interactive gatherings take place on third Thursdays from 4 - 5:30 p.m. “Our events are great for artists and non-artists alike,” said program coordinator Cindy Fletcher. “Our speakers are always friendly and engaging,” she said.

Artist Mia Moore to present at Thursday’s LOCA Art Talk 

The 2020 season kicks off with Contemporary Collage on Thursday, Jan 16. Presenters are artists Carolyn Machado and Mia Moore. Both are influenced by Asian aesthetics – Machado creates assemblages of found objects and artifacts, while Moore creates two-dimensional and folded works from antique papers.

LOCA kicks off 2020 LOCA Art Talks season with artist Carolyn Machado 

Upcoming presenters include goldsmith Karin Worden on February 20, poet and magic realist painter Paul Bond on March 19, gallery owner, arts editor, and curator Vanessa Rothe on April 16, and eco dye textile artist Reem Khalil on May 21.
