LagunaTunes presents free “Holiday Lights” concert on Dec 15

LagunaTunes, a 50-member community chorus, announces a free holiday concert on Sunday, Dec 15 at 4 p.m. in the Artists Theatre at Laguna Beach High School.

The music in Holiday Lights reflects the many kinds of light that celebrate the season. A lavishly decorated house, strings of Christmas tree lights, menorah candles, the Star of Bethlehem, a glowing fireplace, or the twinkle in a child’s eyes anticipating Santa…light is a recurring holiday theme.

Holiday Lights has something for everyone: Ugly Christmas sweaters, a decked-out house, people staring at cell phones. Toe-tapping holiday favorites, beautiful choral music, and, it’s rumored, a visit from some guy in a red suit.

It’s short, free, and family-friendly. Holiday Lights is guaranteed to lighten your mood and warm your heart.

LagunaTunes, a no-audition chorus, welcomes singers of all training and experience levels. Some members read music, some do not, age levels cover a broad range, and all are united by a love of music. Emphasis is on fun, learning, improving performance skills, and the joy of group singing.

LagunaTunes gives two concerts a year, one in December and one in June. New members are welcome; rehearsals for the June concert begin in February.

The chorus is led by Bob Gunn, popular director of Orange County’s MenAlive chorus and Laguna’s St. Mary’s choir. Gunn’s entertaining choral productions are well known throughout southern California and in international

LagunaTunes is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides choral singing to everyone with no auditions. Funding is by the Festival of Arts Foundation and The Lodging Establishments and City of Laguna Beach.
