Rev Dr Jerry Tankersley of Laguna Presbyterian Church will retire: last day to preach will be June 24

After 46 years of ministry, Rev Dr Jerry Tankersley is retiring as Senior Pastor of Laguna Presbyterian Church on June 30 of this year. His last Sunday to preach will be June 24.

The community is invited to worship that morning at the 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. services to celebrate Jerry’s years of ministry at Laguna Presbyterian Church. It will be a morning of gratitude for his service to the church and this community.

Rev Jerry Tankersley

At Laguna Presbyterian since 1972, Rev. Dr. Jerry Tankersley received his BA from Westmont College, followed by a B.D. from Fuller Theological Seminary.  He went on to obtain a ThM from Princeton Theological Seminary, followed by a PhD from Claremont Graduate School. He also received a Doctorate of Ministry from the Claremont School of Theology.

Jerry was ordained by the Presbyterian Church (USA) in 1963. Prior to his service at LPC, Dr. Tankersley served as Assistant Pastor at the Wilshire Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles and as Associate Pastor at La Canada Presbyterian Church in La Canada.

Jerry and his wife, Kay, enjoy their role as grandparents to Quinn and Luke Tankersley, born to Rachel and Jeff, their son.
